Chai Ping is currently the Country Managing Director and HR Director of Experian Malaysia which has a workforce of over 1000 employees. She is responsible for providing overall leadership for the centre in Kuala Lumpur. Over a career that spans more than 25 years, she joined the “Big 4” fraternity in Consulting before her foray into HR, providing strategic direction and driving the people agenda with the business. During her tenure in Accenture, she was the Country HR Lead of Malaysia & Vietnam and subsequently became the Asia Pacific HR Lead for Accenture Strategy, rolling out the Accenture Growth Model where Accenture reorganised its global operating structures. She also played a key role in leading and managing Accenture’s Diversity & Inclusion agenda and was awarded Champion of the Accenture Global Inclusion & Diversity Excellence Award in 2013.
Chai Ping is a Mentor for LeadWomen/Women In Leadership programme and in August 2017, she was bestowed the Asia HRD - Contribution to HR Community Award 2017. In November 2018, she won TalentCorp Life At Work CEO Champion Award. Under her leadership, Experian was also the recipient of the HR Excellence Awards 2019 and then 2023, Asia Recruitment Awards 2019 and also the HR Asia Awards for the 5th consecutive year in 2021.
Chai Ping is one of the founding members and is now the Chairperson of the Global Business Services (GBS) Networking Circle (the GBS industry is touted to be a USD6 billion industry in Malaysia) and is also National Committee Member of PIKOM-GBS Malaysia Chapter. She sits on the International Advisory Board of Heriot-Watt University. She has also completed the Global Women On Board (GWOB) programme with LeadWomen and is the winner of “Executive of the Year – Technology” in the Malaysia Management Excellence Awards 2023. In August 2024, Chai Ping was appointed as Fellow of Talent Corporation Malaysia. In November 2024, Chai Ping is the winner of the PIKOM “Woman Leader in Building Sustainable Equity”. She continues to be a key member of the Petronas-EY Neurodiversity CHRO Roundtable and a mentor for DELL MentorConnect Programme.

Over the years, she has held various leadership positions, including Senior Manager and Manager, broadening her expertise to include B2B Industrial, E-commerce, and Professional Services.

The skills she has mastered in communication has allowed her to cross-over to other sectors. Sherena now works in the recruitment sector where her communication skills have translated very well into the HR industry.
