Dr. Sharbanom Abu Bakar,
Independent
Non-Executive Director

Dr. Sharbanom Abu Bakar is an Independent Non-Executive Director at AFFIN Islamic Bank Berhad. She is also the Non-Executive Director at Radikale Konzept, a technology and ESG consulting outfit.

In recent years, Dr Sha served as the lead consultant to United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the development of Malaysia SDG Investor Map, and as a senior specialist at United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) in Vienna.

She completed her doctoral research on the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies in aerospace manufacturing at Warwick University, UK. Subsequently, she was involved in the UK Connected Intelligent Transport Environment (UKCITE) national project where she evaluated technologies for the connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV).

She had a 30-year career in the telecommunication and technology sectors in Malaysia, serving IBM Malaysia and Telekom Malaysia Berhad, among others.
