LeadWomen has been a trailblazer in Malaysia in delivering Board Simulation experiences—first introduced in 2013 under the Women Directors Programme (WDP), and later evolved into our own flagship Global Women on Boards (GWOB) Programme in 2018.
Recognising its impact in building board readiness and confidence, we are now extending this powerful, experiential format to our LeadWomen Community Members—bringing boardroom learning to life in a dynamic and immersive way.
The simulation replicates real-life boardroom scenarios, offering aspiring, new, and current board directors hands-on exposure to boardroom dynamics and behaviours, strategic discussions and decision-making, role expectations and leadership communication.
Risk Committee Board Simulation
30 October 2025
LeadWomen Community closed October with an insightful Risk Committee Board Simulation. Hosted at the AICB Centre of Excellence, our Venue Partner, the elegant boardroom set the stage for a dynamic and realistic simulation.
We focused on understanding the role of a Risk Committee, navigating a critical, high-pressure scenario that demanded strategic thinking, sound judgement, and effective decision-making.
Key takeaways included avoiding anchoring bias, asking sharper strategic questions, applying risk frameworks effectively, and strengthening decision discipline.

Pilot Board Simulation
28 May 2025
Our first Board Simulation with community members was successfully conducted featuring our proprietary case study designed to reflect real-world governance scenarios. Participants assumed the roles of Independent Directors, engaging with key Role Players who represented a typical boardroom composition.
A heartfelt thank you to The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) for hosting us in their scenic boardroom at AICB Building. The setting offered an ideal space to immerse our participants in a board simulation.
Key governance learnings included recognising misalignments, exercising objective reasoning, asking the right questions, and balancing constructive challenge with active listening.
A surprise element was woven into the session, challenging participants to think critically and respond in real time to governance-related issues.
